An afternoon jazz concert for children Peter & The Wolf – 14 July

The Edinburgh Jazz and Blues Festival are delighted to invite you to enjoy this wonderful new interpretation by the SNJO of one of the most universally popular children’s classics Peter & the Wolf. A fun-filled animal story set to music, this 1-hour performance is particularly suitable for children of all ages and a great introduction to jazz.

Ah’m a grandfaither masel noo. But I want to tell ye aw a story. This is the story aboot me, me and the Wolf”.

So begins, Tommy Smith’s Scottish jazz version of  Prokofiev’s classic Peter and the Wolf and creates a performance that is perfect for children to enjoy: a fun-filled animal story set to music!

The music has been arranged and orchestrated by Tommy Smith with text adapted by Liz Lochhead and will be narrated by the inimitable Scottish actor Tam Dean Burn.
