It’s time to swing, as the Scottish National Jazz Orchestra with guest pianist Brian Kellock invite you to celebrate the extraordinary music of three great jazz legends: Count Basie, Duke Ellington and ‘Fats’ WallerPivotal to the evolution of 20th Century orchestral jazz, Basie, Ellington and Waller created music that defined an era and left a legacy of wonderful tunes.

The Scottish National Jazz Orchestra has chosen a fabulous range of pieces with which to pay their respects and thrill the audience – foot-tapping favourites, infectious swing, mellow mood and contemporary jazz – including tracks such as Basie’s wonderful Li’l Darlin’, Kid from Red Bank and Splanky, Ellington’s famous Daybreak Express and Single Petal of a Rose and Waller’s Jitterbug Waltz and Honeysuckle Rose – an evening not to be missed!

Great swing means everything in orchestral jazz and the repertoires of Basie, Ellington and Waller have it in enormous bundles of unbridled joy.
