Happy Christmas to all.

We wish all our friends a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

2015 is a special year for the SNJO – our 20th anniversary and we look forward to some really special events and concerts. We start by celebrating the centenaries of two remarkable jazz names.

2015 marks the centenary of the birth of Billy ‘Sweet Pea’ Strayhorn and the Scottish National Jazz Orchestra are delighted to pay tribute to him, his genius and his musical legacy.

Billy was phenomenal jazz composer, pianist, lyricist, and arranger, best known for his successful collaboration with Duke Ellington, which lasted nearly three decades and included landmark compositions like Take the ‘A’ Train.

These February concerts are in Edinburgh, Queen’s Hall, Buccleuch Centre, Langholm and Glasgow, RCS.

KE.PressShot.Concord1Then in May, enjoy a truly unforgettable centenary celebration of Frank Sinatra: the man, his music and his timeless jazz legacy.

Join the Scottish National Jazz Orchestra and their guest, the incredible Kurt Elling, as they turn the pages of the Sinatra songbook and salute his unquestionable genius in an outstanding evening of music and song.

Venues: Sage Gateshead, Dundee Caird Hall, Aberdeen Music Hall, Edinburgh Usher Hall and Glasgow City Hall.

Tickets are now on sale for both concert series at all venues.
